Business Development Manager Retail Energy (24421)

 

This is a multi-level position and placement is dependent upon the skills and experience of the candidate.

 

The (Sr) Business Development Manager is a sales position responsible for developing and improving PSEG Energy Solutions market positions and financial growth targets. This position will support the Company's rapid growth as a retail energy provider including geographic expansion, and maximization of operating margins. Primary responsibilities of the position include developing and maintaining an indirect/broker sales channel and customer base focusing on the commercial and industrial retail energy market segment.

 

Duties Include:

 

  • Sell PSEG Energy Solutions products through approved channel partners including actively managing aggregator/broker/consultant relationships developing new business and renewing existing business.
  • Prospect, screen and on-board approved channel partners to join the PSEG Energy Solutions customer base.
  • Develop relationships with key channel partners and closely monitor sales channel performance to identify and improve channel effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Conduct sales meetings with channel partners to discuss PSEG Energy Solutions competitive advantage.
  • Negotiate prices and contracts while ensuring compliance of company policy and work with management to develop sales plans and produce timely reporting of results and variations to plan.
  • Maintain a current understanding of the dynamics of the electricity and gas markets in the northeast.

 

Required Skills, Education and Experience for Senior BDM:

 

Bachelor's Degree and 8 years of professional experience (or 12 years of experience without a college degree) in energy sales or sales operations with a B2B or B2C company

 

6 years of experience in a sales role within the deregulated retail energy industry targeting the commercial and industrial market segment. Experience with indirect sales channel highly desirable

 

3 years of experience in a sales role focused on the PJM/NE/NY electric markets including understanding of pricing, product benefits, marketing analysis and regulatory requirements.

 

Experience in working with management developing and sales plans and reporting associated key metrics.

 

Required Skills, Education and Experience for BDM:

 

Bachelor's Degree and 4 years of professional experience (or 12 years of experience without a college degree) in energy sales or sales operations with a B2B or B2C company

 

4 years of experience in a sales role within the deregulated retail energy industry targeting the commercial and industrial market segment. Experience with indirect sales channel highly desirable

 

2 years of experience in a sales role focused on the PJM/NE/NY electric markets including understanding of pricing, product benefits, marketing analysis and regulatory requirements.

 

Experience in working with management developing and sales plans and reporting associated key metrics
