Energy Innovation Analyst

Arizona Public Service has an opportunity for an Energy Innovation Analyst in our Advanced Technologies (Smart Grid) Department who will be responsible for supporting Advanced Grid programs and projects, both customer and utility-focused, including technical assessments, trend analysis, writing reports and project management. The Analyst develops and maintains technical expertise on smart grid technologies as well as participates and occasionally plays lead role on projects and programs, coordinating and managing activities across multiple business units. 

Major Accountabilities:

  • Manage and support Advanced Grid projects and programs, both directly and through collaboration with other internal and external groups.
  • Effectively interface and resolve project issues with departmental staff, other departments, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders to meet project requirements.
  • Develop analytical and technical capabilities and expertise on current smart grid technologies, regulatory and policy issues and maintain technical expertise on smart grid technologies, including home automation technologies.
  • Monitor industry developments to effectively evaluate potential impact on the Company and advise management as needed and requested.
  • Participate, as Company representative in various forums, committees and working groups dealing with various Energy Innovation technical, policy and regulatory issues.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Finance or Business, plus at least 4 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Working knowledge of energy issues, technologies, markets, the electric utility industry, and relevant state and federal requirements. 
  • Excellent business, planning and project management skills.
