Job Description:

Regional Sales Manager (Southwest Region)

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) seeks an innovative, driven, and collaborative individual for our Regional Sales Manager position. If you are looking for an opportunity to lead business development and technical sales activities within the Southwest region, assist in the development of short and long-term business strategies, and leverage SEL technology to identify and better serve underutilized markets, then this position is for you!

This position is located in Irvine, California or Phoenix, Arizona where you will have the opportunity to work alongside our Sales & Customer Service and Engineering Services teams supporting regional customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead technical sales activities within the region.
  • Assist in development of short and long-term business plans and strategies in order to increase market share and achieve regional sales goals.
  • Identify new opportunities and coordinate marketing and sales efforts to reach under-served markets and drive to sales closure.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key customer contacts to ensure excellent customer communications and service, transitioning new customers to existing support structure as deemed necessary.
  • Develop manage and support new direct sales channels as well as regional development of new market engineered solutions.
  • Coordinate with other SEL business units to develop SEL solutions based on market opportunities.
  • Continuously identify, measure, and improve processes.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering
  • 10+ years progressive responsibility in a technical sales environment or equivalent experience
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Willing to travel up to 40%
  • Ability to learn concepts and technical details of SEL solutions and competitive solutions
  • Proficient knowledge of MS Office
  • Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills
  • Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
  • Background check results satisfactory to SEL
  • Negative drug test result(s)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of progressive responsibility in utility and industrial power systems, or critical processed industries.
  • Personnel or sales management supervision experience
  • Bilingual
  • CRM or Relational Database experience
