The Opportunity

Little Edisons School (LES) seeks a professional, innovative and detailed individual for our Early Childhood Education Specialist teaching in our Toddler classroom. Teacher

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the educational activities within the childcare classroom
  • Apply standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the childcare field
  • Establish and maintain supportive relationships with children and parents
  • Work cooperatively in a team atmosphere.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Continuously identify, measure, and improve childcare processes by participating in process improvement teams.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Eighteen years of age or older
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1-2 years documented child care work related experience
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively as part of a team
  • Ability to work overtime, as required
  • Background check results satisfactory to SEL & DEL
  • Current Washington State Food Handlers Permit
  • Current HIV/AIDS and blood borne pathogen training
  • Negative Mantoux TB test result(s)
  • Current Infant, Child & Adult First Aid/CPR certified
  • Ability to meet MVR Qualification Standards of SEL
  • Meet STARS training requirement in the state of Washington and be listed in the State Training and Registry System
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills
  • Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
  • Negative drug test result(s)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years documented early childhood development education
  • Foreign Language Skills

Physical Requirements:

  • Lift up to 50lbs frequently
  • Sit and/or stand for up to 8 hours

  • Twist
