The Fossil Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) group provides governance and oversight to ensure PSEG's fossil-fueled generating fleet in New Jersey, New York, Connecticut and Maryland operates in compliance with applicable local, state and federal EH&S regulations. 

This position reports to the Newark, NJ general office and may include travel to our generating stations as necessary to complete assignments.
 

Responsibilities may include supporting the group in one or more of the following areas:

- Assisting with annual environmental reporting obligations (e.g. Toxic Release Inventory)

- Drafting Scope of Work documents, procedures and compliance plan updates

- "Back Office" support (invoice processing, metric tracking, business planning, etc...)

- Developing tools to assist compliance monitoring

- Performing engineering calculations and data analysis

- Other tasks as needed

 

Required Education/Skills: The successful candidate (s) must be actively pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree majoring in Environmental, Chemical, or similar related Engineering degree from an accredited institution with a minimum GPA of 3.0. Candidates must have completed sophomore level course work for consideration. Candidates must have excellent oral and verbal communication skills, with keen attention to detail.  PSEG recognizes institutions of higher education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent. GPA information MUST be included on your resume for employment consideration.  Because the job requires driving to company locations and off-site assignments and events, must possess a valid driver’s license with a safe and satisfactory driver history.


All PSEG internship roles are paid at an hourly rate, however there are no benefits associated with these positions. Candidates are expected to work 40 hours per week over the summer period for the full 10-12 week period. We are targeting: Currently enrolled students with GPA of 3.0 staying in the NJ/NY/PA metro area for the duration of the internship and able to commute to the assigned work location. Housing, transportation, Immigration Support will not be provided with this position.  

As an employee of PSE&G or PSEG Long Island, you should be aware that during storm restoration efforts, you may be required to perform functions outside of your routine duties and on a schedule that may be different from normal operations.
