The ISO employee in this position is responsible for implementing asset performance auditing of generation and demand response. This includes rotating procedural responsibilities as well as new procedure development to enable continuous improvement and in response to tariff changes.  The analyst will also be expected to be familiar with asset registration procedures and to aid in the coordination of changes to the settlement model for new and existing market assets.

The individual in this role is expected to become intimately familiar with the various provisions in the governing documents, including but not limited to, ISO New England Inc. Tariff, Market Rule 1, ISO New England Manuals, and ISO New England Operating Procedures, and particularly those that impact asset registration and performance auditing.

Responsibilities
  • Support auditing and registration business processes in conformance with the governing language and documented business procedures
  • Provide a wide array of customer support and communications in the area of asset registration and performance auditing
  • Provide analysis of  performance data, identifying trends or anomalies
  • Develop and deliver detailed documentation such as memorandums, presentations, white papers, processes and procedures based upon detailed analysis in the support of projects/assignments
  • Represent ISO New England at internal and external stakeholder meetings

  • Support development of business requirements in conjunction with changes in the tariff or other governing documents
  • Develop and deliver in-person or web-based training presentations as assigned
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, or Marketing, or equivalent experience. Master’s degree in engineering or business administration desirable
  • General understanding of electricity market structure and operations

  • Familiarity with demand response programs, energy efficiency measures, and distributed generation
  • Demonstrated analytical capability and ability to perform data analysis, interpret results, and communicate results to others

  • Excellent oral and written communication, customer service and presentation skills
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
Desirable qualities:
  • Experience in the utility industry and understanding of electric wholesale markets and operations
  • Familiarity with developing macros and automating functions (such as Visual Basic)
  • Experience with SQL or other database querying methods and concepts
  • Knowledge of ISO-NE Market Rules, Manuals, Operating Procedures, business processes and procedures
  • Experience in the design, development/testing and implementation of software solutions and business processes
  • Project Management and facilitation skills
