The City of Denton is seeking a strong, competent, and highly ethical professional with proven management, analytical, and problem-solving skills to be the Assistant General Manager of Power Supply.

Denton Municipal Electric (DME) is Denton's hometown electric provider and has been serving the greater Denton area since 1905.
DME is a renewable energy leader, with 80% of its energy portfolio in renewable power.
The City of Denton provides more wind power, per capita, than any U.S. city, and all DME customers receive 80% renewable energy at no additional cost, and will be 100% by 2020.
Assistant General Manager of Power Supply
Reporting to the General Manager, the Assistant General Manager of Power Supply is an at-will, executive position within the Denton Municipal Electric utility, an enterprise department of the City of Denton.
Any combination of related education, experience, certifications, and licenses that will result in a candidate successfully performing the essential functions of the job is considered qualifying.
A typical way to obtain these qualifications would be a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Administration, Engineering Technology, or a related field and ten years of electric utility or experience directly related to management of electric utility power supply (five years of which include senior management experience in the areas of power supply planning, power contracts engineering, external affairs, and project management in the energy service or utility industry).
The anticipated hiring range is +/- $190,000 annually DOQ. A superior benefits package is also offered, including Texas Municipal Retirement System at the 7% employee contribution level with a 2-to-1 match upon retirement.
