SEL is seeking an individual to support distribution systems application support. This application engineer needs to have a drive to learn and customer focus. This individual will have a wide range of autonomy and flexibility in order to best provide quality solutions and world-class customer service to our national customers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Develop working knowledge of power systems, fault indicators and sensors (product and system specifications), recloser controls, voltage regulators, capacitor bank controls, distribution automation, arc sense technology, related distribution applications and all related SEL products.
Help customers apply SEL products through visits, demonstrations, training courses and telephone contact.
Contribute to product specifications, application, and testing software, and literature.
Participate in and complete Engineering Development Program.
Participate in SEL marketing and sales activities and industry technical meetings and conferences.
Teach training schools for customers and SEL personnel.
Follow and improve marketing, sales and engineering quality procedures.
Continuously identify, measure, follow, and improve marketing, sales, and engineering quality procedures.
Continuously identify, measure, and improve processes.
Other duties as assigned.
B.S. in Electrical Engineering, equivalent degree, or equivalent work experience
Competent technical training, speaking and writing skills
Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities
Ability to work effectively and professionally with internal and external customers
Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
Ability to travel
Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills
Background check results satisfactory to SEL
Negative drug test result(s)
M.S. in Electrical Engineering, with emphasis in distribution
