Competitive Power Ventures, Inc. (“CPV”), with headquarters in Silver Spring, MD and offices in Braintree, MA and San Francisco, CA is a leading clean energy company built around the belief that progressive companies can be powerful leaders in creating a better world. CPV is privately held, majority owned by Global Infrastructure Partners, and has approximately 85 employees. 

CPV is looking for an innovative, results oriented Asset Manager to join our Asset Management Team at their Silver Springs, Maryland location.  

This individual will be responsible for:

  • Driving the effective optimization of managed power facilities.  
  • In this support role, you will perform various duties to support one or more Lead Asset Managers on two to four power stations located around the US, with a focus on CPV’s combined cycle plants under management.  
  • This includes resolving technical/commercial/permitting issues impacting asset performance and earnings as directed, operational and financial reporting, including analysis of production, availability, and cost data, supporting the annual budgeting processes for each plant, and assisting with optimizing maintenance scheduling and planning, capital project development, estimating, and execution, M&A due diligence activities and operational and financial presentations to owners and lenders.
  • In addition, you will monitor compliance with regulatory requirements, including NERC, manage various projects, their respective commercial agreements, and initiatives as identified to improve performance and earnings, and perform various analysis related to market and operational sensitivities, regulatory requirements, cost savings, proposed projects, and other activities as they arise  

Qualified candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related discipline, along with 2+ years’ experience with combined cycle generating asset technologies including contracted plants, merchant plants and/or cogeneration plants.

The ideal candidate will be proficient with Microsoft Office, have a keen eye for details, and excellent verbal and written communication skills.  Demonstrated ability to review, analyze and interpret contracts, operating statistics, capital projects, budgets, procedures and financial reports is a must.
