Vision: INL will change the world's energy future and secure our critical infrastructure.Responsibilities Performs journeyman level carpentry construction and repair work at the Materials & Fuels Complex.
Functions of the positions include, but are not limited to: •Perform rough and finish carpentry, fabrication of enclosures and erection and inspection of scaffolding. •Reading blueprints, drawings, schematics, and sketches to fabricate products to specifications •Install structures and fixtures, such as windows, molding and doors•Using tools of the trade, measure, cut, or shape wood, plastic, and other materials.•Construct building frameworks, including walls, floors, and door frames.•Build window frames, doors, staircases and frame by using raw materials or pre-constructed items•Layout floorings, roofings or drywalls ensuring they are leveled and compatible•Assemble furniture, cabinets, shelves, and other items and install them where designated•Performs concrete forming and finishing•Inspect places and conduct repairs or maintenance•Plan and perform work using the principles of Conduct of Operations and Conduct of Maintenance. Ensure all principles of the Integrated Management System (ISM) are incorporated into all tasks and assignments.•Knowledge of crashbars and door closures Requirements:
HS Diploma and three years of journeyman level demonstrated experience.
Must be a US Citizen and have the ability and willingness to obtain and maintain a DOE “L” Clearance. Must have Good knowledge of procedures as related to areas of responsibility and safety standards and practices
Considerable skill in making decisions, solving problems, carpentry techniques and maintain effective working relationships with others
Good skills in oral and written communication
Must be able to work from ladders, platforms, scaffolds and man-lift equipment
Must have knowledge of and compliant with Industrial Safety requirements
Must be willing to work over-time when needed
