Compliance Advisors or Analysts

Position Summary Description:
Seminole is looking to fulfill a need in our Compliance group that manages our NERC related compliance requirements and FERC Standards of Conduct.

Seminole has two (2) positions available and may fill the position at various levels, including Senior Compliance Advisor, Compliance Advisor, Compliance Analyst II, or as a Compliance Analyst I.

These positions can be filled at Seminole’s headquarters located in Tampa, Florida or at Seminole’s Seminole Generating Station located in Palatka, Florida.

These individuals will perform as part of a team that manages a centralized Reliability Standards compliance monitoring and reporting process to assure Seminole's auditable compliance with FERC, NERC, and FRCC standards. Coordinate activi ties related to compliance with Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP), Operational and Planning (O&P) Reliability Standards, and FERC’s Standards of Conduct. Communicate with subject matter experts, management, and outside consultants regarding NERC compliance. Develop internal compliance controls and provide training to Seminole and Member employees. Coordinate requests with regional regulatory agencies and internal departments to ensure compliance issues are addressed in a timely manner.

Essential Functions:
* Cyber security experience desired, including but not limited to: experience with incident response and recovery plans, NERC BES Cyber Asset classifications, general firewall configurations, change management processes, cyber asset baseline development, and sensitive information protection.
* Knowledge of NERC O&P Standards desired, including but not limited to: knowledge of relay protection schemes, transmission operator real time assessments, transmission planning studies, and relay maintenance requirements.
* Coordinates daily activities related to compliance with NERC CIP and O&P Reliability Standards.
* Participates in NERC compliance audits.
* Monitors industry best practices and identifies changes in regulatory compliance for cyber and physical security.
* Confers with management to identify and address potential areas of non-compliance and anticipate future compliance requirements.
* Performs compliance assessments, documents compliance status, and makes recommendations on corrective action required to achieve compliance with Reliability Standards.
* Participates in addressing requests with regional regulatory agencies and internal departments to ensure compliance issues are addressed in a timely manner.
* Participates in coordination of mandatory filings for federal, state, and local regulatory agencies.
* May represent organization at meetings at the regional and federal level.
* Evaluates and prepares procedural documentation, ongoing monitoring, testing, and remediation related to compliance
* Interprets new and existing regulations in consultation with legal and other subject matter experts to determine applicability.
* Provides technical leadership in the planning, development, organizational, coordination, implementation, and review of the compliance program.
* Other duties as applicable to the position or as assigned.

Working Conditions:
Some travel and work outside of normal business hours. While working in certain areas of the plants or substations, there is the potential for exposure to hazards typical of an industrial working environment. Must be able to follow established protective measures including, wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE). Must be able to lift 25 pounds if needed.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

Senior Compliance Advisor:
Seven (7) years of experience in Auditing, Risk Management, Engineering, Information Technology, and/or specific subject matter experience. Five (5) years experience with NERC Reliability Standards is highly desired. Must have thorough knowledge & understanding of NERC Reliability Standards. Remain current with all NERC, FERC & FRCC compliance regula tions & procedures. Must be knowledgeable and familiar with the technical terminology used in the reliability standards

A Bachelor's degree in engineering, information technology, or related business field is required. Related academic degree considered; may include auditing, legal or risk management. MBA or advanced degree preferred. May substitute two (2) years of experience for each year of academics.

Compliance Advisor:
Bachelor's degree in engineering, information technology, or applicable equivalent electric power training and project management experience. Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in auditing or corporate risk management may be considered. Five (5) years of experience in Auditing, Risk Management, Compliance, or Engineering, with experience in the NERC, FERC, and FRCC compliance & auditing requirements preferred. May substitute two years of experience for each year of academics.

Must acquire and maintain knowledge of NERC Reliability Standards and be familiar with the NERC Rules of Procedure associated with Reliability Standards development, compliance, and enforcement. Must remain current with all NERC, FERC, and FRCC compliance requirements. Must acquire and maintain knowledge with the technical terminology used in reliability standards

Compliance Analyst II:
Bachelor's degree in engineering, information technology, or applicable equivalent electric power training and project management experience. Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in auditing or corporate risk management may be considered. Two (2) years of experience in Auditing, Risk Management, Compliance, or Engineering, with experience in the NERC, FERC, and FRCC compliance & auditing requirements preferred.
