Our Engineering Services editing team is seeking a talented Spokane-area college student interested in editing and producing technical documentation and other materials for internal and external SEL customers. We are looking for someone interested in pursuing an editing career who wants to learn how to create, edit, and maintain clean documentation and create engaging PowerPoint presentations. Our intern will assist editors with formatting, editing, and proofreading documents and presentations and will oversee and maintain our growing Engineering Services resumes database. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Assist in the production of presentations, documents, and/or other published material.
2. Develop and maintain basic skills in formatting and proofreading technical documentation.
3. Collaborate with others.
4. Understand. Create. Simplify.
5. Other duties as assigned.
Current student pursuing a degree in English, Journalism, Marketing or related area
Ability to work part time during the school year and full time during the summer
Basic proofreading, writing, grammar, and communications skills
Basic knowledge of MS Office software
Superior organizational skills and high attention to detail
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to learn and communicate technical/scientific information
Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills
Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities
Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
Background check results satisfactory to SEL
Negative drug test result(s)
Working knowledge of the Chicago Manual of Style and the Gregg Reference Manual.
Ability to work under pressure and recognize the criticality of meeting stringent deadlines.
