Ameren is a regulated electric and gas delivery company headquartered in St. Louis, MO.

This co-op position will vary based on projects and co-op preference. Location options may include: Illinois & Missouri. Position will begin in January 2018 and end in August 2018, begin in May 2018 and end in December 2018 or a traditional Summer intern of May 2018 through August 2018.

Key responsibilities include

Duties include but are not limited to assisting engineers in data collection and project management activities related to facilities engineering responsibilities associated with the Company's facilities located across Missouri and Illinois.

  • Requisitioning and purchasing of materials, planning, designing and cost estimating, related to the construction, operation, and maintenance of facilities. An emphasis on safety, reliability, cost effectiveness, and customer satisfaction will be stressed.
  • Plan, design, budget, engineer, and manage engineering and construction projects related to reliability, safety and individual well and overall field peak performance. Ensure and maintain compliance activities.
  • Assist with Gas Storage Corrosion and Pipeline Integrity activities, which may include design, construction and maintenance observation and pipeline pigging operations.
  • Contribute, as per abilities and experience, to the development and implementation of department goals. Identify and implement improvements in processes and operations to control costs and improve productivity.
  • Participate in special projects or tasks, including emergencies, as required.

Work location(s) will be divided between an office and field environment, with field construction site visits, inspections and supervision activities playing an equally important role to office engineering responsibilities.


EDUCATION: Student pursuing a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university. Completed course work in engineering through the sophomore level with a GPA of 2.5 or higher.

EXPERIENCE: None required.

OTHER: Good analytical, communication, and human relations skills. Experience with personal computer programming and operation is desirable.
