Job Description:

The Leidos NISC III program is looking for an Junior Energy Auditor with a background in or exposure to energy efficiency, water conservation efforts, energy and water consumption data analysis, and conducting or assisting with Energy Audits to support the Energy Management and Compliance (EMC) Program, Air Traffic Organization, FAA. The selected individual will work as a part of the team that tracks water and energy usage of various FAA facilities, monitors their usage and consumption, analyzes billing histories, tracks variances and participates in energy audits and retro commissioning activities in support of the EMC Program's mission. This includes supporting compliance measures and projects stemming from a wide variety of executive orders and agency and federal energy mandates like EISA energy and water evaluation compliance, Energy Star Portfolio Manager (ESPM) reporting, High Performance Sustainable Building (HPSB) Guiding Principle requirements, Sustainability Scorecard etc

The job also requires the selected individual to work towards identifying, documenting, and evaluating existing conditions, establishing an energy consumption baseline, model data, running simulations, quantifying energy usage based on functions, benchmarking/comparing the facility's energy and water consumption with other similar facilities, identifying/explore energy saving opportunities, and providing recommendations to improve energy efficiency and water consumption. The individual will coordinate with multiple stakeholders in arranging for the audit, review current and historical energy and water data, walk the facility and conduct the audit; prepare energy assessment studies; complete engineering calculations related to energy savings, identify Energy Conservation Measures (ECMs), develop cost estimates for the ECMs and provide recommendations based on lifecycle and payback analysis. The selected person shall also be capable of developing well-written pre and post project evaluation reports that meet and continuously exceed the customer expectations. Additionally, the individual will also communicate with customers during the implementation and completion of the recommended project opportunities and work with field engineers, contract specialists, and customer to continually meet the energy goals.

Qualifications - External

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with at least 2 years of work experience

Understanding of Building Systems Design, Building Systems Installation, Building Systems Commissioning, Building Systems Testing, or TAB

Experience reviewing systems operating modes, sequence of operations, and specifics of equipment, operations, and maintenance

Knowledge in Energy efficiency and water consumption- Means and methods

Experience working with or analyzing Energy and Water Data- both billing and consumption

Ability to communicate and coordinate with stakeholders (Written and verbal)

Ability to work with minimal direction and supervision

Ability to multi task

Command of technical writing associated with compiling reports

Ability to use MS Office applications for analysis, documentation and presentations

Desired Skills:

Experience Building Benchmarking in CTS

Experience working with HPSB Checklists in ESPM

Experience working with Utility Consumption Data in ESPM

Experience reviewing billing histories from utilities and baselining facility energy consumption

Experience reviewing and completing energy and water evaluations for CTS compliance

LEED Certification or any other Energy related certification

Experience working with or supporting the Energy Program of any Federal Agency

Experience working with FAA's Corporate Work Plan (CWP) system
