About The Position

Provide engineering support to all phases of the Power Operations Corrective Action (CAP) process, Plant Reliability Optimization (PRO) process and other Quality Management processes at the Ameren Energy Centers.  Positions will be based out of Labadie Energy Center, Sioux Energy Center or Ameren Development and Resource Center.   Travel between energy centers across Missouri and Power Operations Services offices in the St. Louis area is required.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Support of the Power Operations Corrective Action Program (CAP) including:
    • Investigation of significant plant events or non-conforming conditions by assisting with collecting, assessing and validating data to determine root cause, remedial actions and corrective actions;
    • Perform effective root cause analysis using basic analysis methods;
    • Track all elements of the Corrective Action Program including conducting interviews, assembling event reports and trending the completeness of actions taken;
  • Support of the Power Operations Plant Reliability Optimization Program (PRO) including:
    • Work with Energy Center personnel (System Owners) to identify issues on plant equipment to improve reliability. 
    • Assist System Owners with plant equipment evaluations, monitoring of critical equipment, performance of testing / technologies, and advocating for scheduling of appropriate repairs;
  • Support of the Power Operations Quality Management System (QMS) including:
    • Support material quality and contractor quality efforts at the energy centers
    • Support Energy Center personnel with other QMS procedures as needed.


Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited college or university required.  Five or more years of technical work experience in a utility-related industry preferred.   Experience with power plant systems, equipment, and processes preferred.   Experience with root cause analysis techniques preferred.   Experience with predictive and preventative maintenance testing and methods preferred.

In addition to the above qualifications, the successful candidate will demonstrate:

 Good analytical, human relations, written and oral communication skills and computer skills required.
