This position is development position with initial responsibilities in contractor assurance for Environmental Support & Service (ES&S) Division. It is designed as a succession-preparation and bench-depth position to prepare and mentor an environmental professional to move into a position in a mission center or into an Environmental Support & Services (ES&S) home organization position
In this role you responsibilities would be to implement Performance Management processes and procedures as directed which may include providing/compiling data for quarterly Management Review Meeting (MRM)/assurance reporting and/or key performance indicators, assisting with the issues management process, coordination of the Issues Screening Team (IST) as directed, planning, scheduling, and performing assessments, assisting in implementation of the INL Management Observation Program, and drafting and distribution of Lessons Learned from the INL Lessons Learned system.
This position will also aid in ensuring that applicable company records are identified, maintained, and dispositioned in accordance with company requirements. When supporting mission centers this position will assist customers in resolving environmental compliance issues and provide support and/or oversight for facilities/programs in day-to-day operations. This includes, permit compliance, waste management, chemical management, environmental reporting, record keeping and other related environmental activities. Other aspects are to support customers by preparing or reviewing documents including, environmental checklists, air permitting applicability determinations, and work planning documentation to ensure implementation of environmental requirements. As requested, position will function as a technical lead in assigned subject areas, support implementation of ISO 14001 and other critical company objectives, and ensure work is conducted in a safe and efficient manner.
Baccalaureate degree in engineering, science, environmental policy, technology, or other related fields. Demonstrated experience in an area such as wastewater, drinking water, environmental sampling, radiological monitoring, air monitoring, modeling, or National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) analysis is preferred. Strong interpersonal and communications skills are required.
An ability to learn and understand the issues management process and tools, Key Performance Indicators and performance assurance processes.
Must be able to effectively gather, analyze, and communicate performance related information to all levels of staff.
Must be capable of working effectively across organizational and functional boundaries as directed.
