Financial Analyst I or II

Financial Analyst I

To assist with the following:
operating and maintaining of the department models; analyze current and past financial data and performance; prepare financial reports and projections; evaluate capital expenditures and depreciation; provide investment, leasing and breakeven analysis; prepare and monitor debt compliance matters.

Essential Functions
* Assist and perform financial and budgeting activities, which include, but are not limited to:
* Collecting from various department’s subject matter experts and/or developing modeling assumptions,
* Validating assumptions and inputs used in the models,
* Maintaining documentation and organization of model assumptions along with approval and sign-off by management,
* Proofing results for reasonableness, expected output, and consistency,
* Performing comparison, variance, and trend analysis on various business cases, assumption sensitivity scenarios, and regulatory impacts,
* Performing alternative evaluation studies in support of major project initiatives, regulatory changes, and loan applications,
* Clearly present and communicate results to team members
* Assist with the preparation of monthly/quarterly/annual reports, which include:
* Monthly budget variance reports to assist with identifying inconsistencies and trends,
* Management performance reports,
* Rating agency documents
* Debt services reports
* Credit monitoring/reporting on vendors and key credit suppliers
* Benchmarking reports
* Various other cost reports as needed
* Assist with the preparation of documents for loan applications and loan draws
* Maintain documentation and records of financial transactions and monitors compliance with covenants, terms and conditions
* Other duties as applicable to the position or as assigned.

Financial Analyst II

To assist with the following:
analyze current and past financial data and performance; prepare financial reports and projections; evaluate capital expenditures and depreciation; provide investment, leasing and breakeven analysis; prepare and monitor debt compliance matters; analyze trends in financial performance and provides recommendations for improvement; preparation of rating agency presentations; financial model and financial forecast.

Essential Functions
* Maintains documentations and records of financial transactions and monitors compliance with covenants, terms and conditions.
* Performs special studies and analysis of proposed financing transactions.
* Assists in identifying available sources of financing and performing various assignments as given pertaining to operational and financial transactions.
* Analyzes financial status of potential and current vendors and prepares responses to requests for credit information.
* Performs cost and cash flow analysis as required with respect to operations and capital projects.
* Prepares documentation related to debt service payments.
* Assists in the evaluation and structuring of alternative financing for assets.
* Prepare on a regular basis various reports for use by management for decision-making purposes.
* Assists in the preparation of loan applications.
* Maintains finance library and financing documents.
* Assists in developing and implementing plans for the acquisition of capital needed for the Operations and Generation and Transmission expansion programs, analyzing replacement security for Letters of Credit and placement of permanent debt for assets financed on short term basis.
* Prepares annual work plan and capital, cash and operating budgets; reports actual to budget variances and recommends corrective action as necessary.
* Assists in the development of the intermediate and long range financial forecasts.
* Provides monthly Board Report contributions and debt services reports.
* Other duties as applicable to the position or as assigned.

Financial Analyst I
Requires a Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business equivalent. Additional training in financial management or an advanced accounting or finance degree is desirable. Electrical utility or related industries experience preferred.

Financial Analyst II
Bachelor's degree in Finance (preferred), Accounting, or equivalent, is required. Minimum work experience of 3-5 years in debt compliance and loan strategies. Desirable: Additional specialized training management or business administration with an advanced degree.
