Position Specific Description
NextEra Energy has an immediate opening for a Financial Analyst in the Project Valuation group, located at the corporate office in South Florida. Financial Analysts in this group will lead analysis for investments, M&A, and corporate finance. The Analyst will spend half of their time working with an interdisciplinary SME group to price large scale Solar and Storage Power Purchase Agreements, and half of their time performing financial due diligence on contracted projects going through the investment approval process.
Financial Analysts are expected to assist managers/directors in the planning and coordinating of assignments and work without supervision to identify and analyze the impact of relevant investment, environmental and/or business issues facing NextEra Energy on the company’s financial structure, profitability, financial integrity and competitive position. Competencies include advanced abilities to comprehend, analyze, frame and resolve complex analytical issues and distill them into simple to understand analysis for management decision making; communicate the key investment benefits and risks to senior management; and provide expertise and support to other NextEra departments requiring financial consulting services or financial training.
Ideal candidates will have Master’s degree (MSF or MBA) and/or CFA, superior analytical and presentation skills, and a drive for excellence and continuous improvement.

• Performs financial pro forma modeling and analysis work products
• Coordinates the gathering of Subject Matter Expert (SME) assumptions
• Participates in the review of SME assumptions
• Prepares management presentations
• Presents analysis work in team meetings, and Risk Committee/CFO meetings (based on ability)
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned
