Internal Audit Intern

Duration: May-August 2019

Are you interested in gaining real world experience in audit and assurance services? Our summer internship program is all about providing professional growth and hands on experience in a fast-paced environment. This is a great opportunity to join our dynamic internal audit team at our downtown St. Louis Headquarters. You will assist our team on a variety of key audit projects, which involve analyzing business processes and assessing key financial and operational controls at a Fortune 500 company!

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assist auditors and senior auditors in planning and executing financial and operational audits and  Sarbanes-Oxley assessments.
  • Demonstrate strong initiative, organization, and team interaction skills to successfully handle multiple assignments concurrently and within department timelines.
  • Interact with business process owners to understand business processes, risks and priorities, and to communicate audit progress and findings.
  • Apply critical judgment, strong analytical skills, and sound, independent decision making. Display strong verbal and written communication skills.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Education: Must be in student status (graduate or undergraduate) in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field from an accredited college or university required. Course work or concentration in auditing or accounting strongly preferred. Completed the sophomore level with a GPA of 3.5 or higher preferred.

Experience: Candidate pursuing educational requirements for CPA, CIA, CISA, CFE, or similar certification. Previous internship experience a plus, but not required.

Other: Basic financial accounting skills and proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word required. Strong initiative and analytical, communication, and teamwork skills required.
