Lead Systems Engineer/Principal Investigator


Leidos has an opening for a Lead Systems Engineer / Principal Investigator in Arlington, VA. 


Specific tasks include:


• Program Execution: As a Principal Investigator / Technical Lead / Chief Engineer, lead a diverse, multi-disciplinary team to achieve objectives of an advanced technology program. 

• Pre-Proposal Business Development Support: Leadership in development of innovative technical concepts and solutions for advanced systems that involve multiple disciplines (hardware, real-time software, signal processing, integration and test) and multiple sensor modalities

• Proposal Support: Provide technical leadership during proposals, including hands on participation









Must have a minimum Masters in Electrical Engineering, Physics or Mathematics, and 15+ years of industry experience in EW and/or SIGINT. Must be a US citizen and currently have a   SECRET security clearance. Must show a demonstrated ability to develop new technical concepts for emerging defense and intelligence related needs. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. The applicant must be able to work in a collaborative, fast paced, team environment, conduct technical meetings with customers, and brief technical approach and status to senior management. Dependability, initiative, and ability to solve diverse problems by leveraging company and subcontractor expertise is a requirement. A minimum of 10 years of increasing responsibility as a technical project manager is required. Demonstrated ability to lead technical team greater than 30 employees. Experience in leading multi-disciplinary advanced research and systems development for organizations like DARPA, IARPA, Service Labs etc.



Ph.D. in an Electrical Engineering or Physics, 10+ years of industry experience in advanced technology development.. Prior management of advanced programs, such as  experience in leading as a PI on  complex multi-disciplinary advanced research, systems development efforts for organizations like DARPA, Service Labs etc. TS/SCI clearance is desired. The applicant should have a demonstrated track record of winning and leading advance technology programs. 15 years of increasing responsibility as a project manager is desired with experience in technically managing programs in excess of $25M. Understanding of business capture process is desired. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively through presentations is desired.
