Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent, plus three (3) years of building maintenance and construction work, including heating, cooling, electrical, and plumbing systems.
Relevant work experience may substitute for the education up to the maximum of four (4) years.
Licenses or Certifications:
Texas Class "C" Operator's License.

The Austin Energy (AE) Maintenance Worker III position works alongside with the Facility Service Specialist in handling building maintenance at the Town Lake Center and all other AE locations as required to support the 24/7-hour Utility operations. The Maintenance Worker conducts building inspections interiorly and exteriorly every morning for needed repairs and maintenance in order to provide a safe and healthy environment for all employees and visitors.

1. Experience in building maintenance, such as construction and carpentry work, minor electrical and plumbing repairs, reconfiguration of modular systems, basic operation of heating and cooling systems, and ground maintenance.
2. Experience using a variety of hand and power tools.
3. Experience monitoring contractors while on City property.
4. Experience using computers and software applications to communication with employees, management and other City departments.
5. Experience using Maximo or other similar type of ticketing/tracking system.
