Summary: 

Responsible for overseeing the preparation of our SEC filings, including the 10Qs and 10K, financial statements for senior management, the audit committee, and the company’s board of directors. Oversee compliance with financial disclosure regulations issued by the SEC, FERC and GAAP. Oversees the operations of asset and project accounting including newly-acquired fixed assets (both tangible and intangible), tracking existing fixed assets, recording depreciation, and accounting for the disposition of fixed assets in compliance with FERC and GAAP requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

CPA required;
5 years of experience; strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), FERC and Regulatory Accounting;
Ability to organize work and projects, prioritize and meet deadlines, and complete work in an efficient and accurate manner.

Principal Accountabilities:

Ensure compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act. Model and promote ethical business conduct and compliance with both the letter and spirit of all laws, rules and regulations to which Cleco is subject.

Provide team members with individual and group development opportunities including training, performance planning, feedback and appraisals and general performance management.

Oversee, guide and assist the asset and project accounting team with properly recording newly-acquired fixed assets (both tangible and intangible), tracking existing fixed assets, recording depreciation, and accounting for the disposition of fixed assets in compliance with FERC and GAAP requirements.

Coordinates and oversees the preparation of regulatory reports, financial statements and various other documents and calculations. Reviews work for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to regulatory requirements and works with internal and external customers to ensure reporting needs are met.

Monitors budgets for the Asset and Financial Reporting areas.
