Manager Smart Meter Customer Programs


 About The Position

The Manager Smart Meter Customer Programs is the integration manager for the $400 million Smart Meter Program (SMP). This position will help develop and execute an in-depth customer plan to pave the way for successful implementation of the SMP program.

 Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead the development of a product roadmap that includes products that provides customers with insights, choices and convenience options.   Lead team to coordinate with project and stakeholder resources to achieve customer plan results.
  • Partner with Change Management and Communications to create promotional content and support materials such as websites, brochures, flyers, door hangers, videos, etc. that increases understanding of program and ultimately adoption rates.
  • Benchmark other large-scale investor owned utilities' SMP program communication efforts and incorporate lessons learned from Ameren IL SMP communication strategy.
  • Drive faster adoption and greater utilization of/proficiency with changes affecting customers and co-workers. These improvements will increase benefit realization, value creation, ROI and the achievement of results and outcomes.
  • Develop strong and trusted relationship with customers through timely and accurate communications.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to create customer plan including specific responsibilities of each team, release schedule, program milestones and deliverables, terms of acceptance, etc.
  • Implement a customer satisfaction process to ensure project success is measured with customers
  • Identify and resolve operational and services related issues to ensure customer satisfaction.
    • Based on customer intelligence, develop requirements and actions for successfully implementing business objectives.


Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college required. Seven years of relevant professional-level experience (e.g., energy efficiency program leadership, customer program development, customer experience, etc.) required. MBA or Master's degree in a business-related field is preferred and may be considered in lieu of up to 2 (of the 7 required) years of experience. Three or more years of supervisory or project leadership required.  Experience in a customer focused environment / culture preferred.

 In addition to the above qualifications, the successful candidate will demonstrate:
