Job Summary and Essential Functions
The New York Independent System Operator (NYISO) works to make the power grid smarter by developing and deploying innovative information technology solutions to meet New York’s dynamic energy needs. The NYISO’s Information Technology department invites applications for a full-time Network Engineer.
The Network Engineer will administer NYISO’s local-area network (LAN) and wide-area network (WAN) systems. This individual will be responsible for network system installations, upgrades, and patching, monitoring, system integrity, security, disaster recovery, and performance. The Network Engineer is expected to adhere to established user standards and procedures, participate on project teams and collaborate with application developers and infrastructure peers as necessary, and perform backup and restoration procedures. This individual will also support audit efforts and ensure compliance with corporate and regulatory standards.
Qualifications
Please note, the position will be filled at the level (i.e. Associate Network Engineer, Network Engineer, or Senior Network Engineer appropriate with experience and qualifications.
