The Network Engineer designs communication systems to support smart meter infrastructure projects that meet specific end user requirements based on current standards as well as designs communication systems to support projects that add new capability. The Network Engineer will work with a variety of groups and personnel to accomplish design, implementation, and support of the smart metering system.
Key responsibilities include:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering from an accredited college or university required. Candidates will follow the Engineering Technical Career Path, assuming they meet the minimum qualifications for the position and hold an Engineering degree from an accredited program. One or more years of experience with Landis & Gyr (L&G) AMI implementation and/or support required.
Experience in the following areas with a minimum of three years in one or more areas is preferred: routers, switches, firewalls, and related equipment, FANs, NANs, LANs, WANs, fiber optic transmission system, IP based wireless networks, SCADA networks, Smart Grid networks, or wireless technologies. Cisco CCNA Certification is preferred.

The Network Engineer works a standard shift in an office environment with occasional travel to field locations. May be required to provide 24x7x365 support. The Network Engineer must be able to balance the demands of project implementation with operational requirements.
