Principal Nuclear Engineer - Assigned to the Electrical Design Engineering group. Performs calculations, engineering evaluations, configuration change packages, capital and O&M projects design oversight and review, Corrective Action Program, Safe Shutdown, Station Blackout (SBO) Programs, cable database, load management, resolving engineering holds (on-line and outage), support and manage shift coverage for refueling outages, support license change requests, support plant engineering emergent design related requests, 50.59 preparation/reviews, operability determination, and emergent LCO support, root cause investigation for design related issues, etc. The successful candidate will also perform other assigned duties as determined by the Electrical Design Engineering Branch Manager.
REQUIRED: BS degree in Engineering - Minimum of 15 years nuclear industry experience with at least 10 years in engineering. Must possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Familiar with both PWR and BWR plant operations. Familiar with INPO Engineering equipment reliability, configuration management expectations and the ability to drive site improvement to achieve sustained excellent performance (industry top quartile performance).The candidate will need to demonstrate flexibility with changing priorities and adaptive ways of doing business.
DESIRED: Experience in multiple nuclear plant engineering disciplines (i.e. systems, design, programs, and procurement). NRC SRO License or certification; ability to manage projects and / or external vendors; familiar with the license renewal process / requirements. The candidate must meet requirements for Unescorted Plant Access and maintain and apply working knowledge of PSEG Standards for Business Controls and meet management's expectations for effective internal business controls. The successful candidate will also be able to meet the requirements of Emergency Preparedness Organization (ERO) member.
As an employee of PSE&G or PSEG Long Island, you should be aware that during storm restoration efforts, you may be required to perform functions outside of your routine duties and on a schedule that may be different from normal operations.
