Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) Specialist

Job Description:

Leidos is seeking a highly motivated candidate to join our team as a Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) Specialist. The QA/QC Specialist will be responsible for inspecting the work performed by participating HVAC contractors, Building Envelope contractors, and Electrical Contractors to ensure all program requirements and standards are met. Our Specialist will also be cross-trained so as to be able to assist other departmental QA/QC functions.

Location: Marion, IL or Carbondale, IL. This position will work from home, however will require 50-75% local travel.

* Schedule and conduct on-site inspections to verify work completed by Program Allies and subcontractor
* Assist the Quality Assurance Manager with the creation of new QA policies and procedures as needed
* Highly organized, and efficient with scheduling of visits including grouping of visits geographically given the challenges of operating in the central Southern Illinois region
* Communicate findings/discrepancies to Program Managers that required additional follow up
* Assist in process improvements to ensure quality within and across program
* Daily travel to appointments
* Prepare weekly activity reports and track progress towards program goals
* Ensure the meeting of customer specifications and company quality standards
* Complete special projects as assigned
* Complete and maintain all required paperwork, records, documents, etc.
* Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations

Required Education & Experience:
• Bachelor's degree with 1+ year of experience. High School diploma with additional 4 years' experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
• Should have prior experience in energy efficiency or similar technologies
• Basic knowledge of integrated building science is highly desired
• Candidate must should have current Building Performance Institute (BPI) certification or will be required to obtain BPI certification within six months of hire
• Demonstrated computer skills including use of Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Experience with Salesforce CRM
• Excellent customer relations skills including ability to understand concerns and ability to suggest solutions
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Must be a team player
• Capable of multitasking and working several complex and diverse tasks
• Must be well organized, reliable, conscientious, and be capable of managing resources and schedules to meet multiple deadlines
• 50-75%% travel will be required
