Position Specific Description

The Clause Recovery and Wholesale Rates team is responsible for enabling recovery of over $3 billion of revenue associated with fuel, capacity, conservation, and environmental related costs through the various Florida Public Service Commission electric and gas cost recovery clauses; and over $500 million of wholesale revenue through Federal Energy Regulatory Commission approved wholesale contracts and Open Access Transmission Tariffs.  The successful candidate for the rate analyst position will be part of a matrix organization working with both the FPSC Clause Recovery Team and the Wholesale Rates Team.  Occasional travel is required.  Flexibility to take on new assignments is required.  In addition to the duties listed below, successful execution requires building effective working relationships with docket team members from various business units including Energy Marketing & Trading, Transmission Services, Florida City Gas, Federal Regulatory Affairs, Legal, Accounting, Finance,  Development, and Engineering & Construction.  Duties include, but not limited to:

 

  • Support rate-related regulatory proceedings needed to obtain FERC regulatory approval of rates for wholesale contract and Open Access Transmission Tariffs for FPL and Gulf Power, including but not limited to assisting with: rate development, filing preparation of testimony and schedules, and responding to discovery
  • Analyze pricing options for new wholesale contracts
  • Update formula rates for projected and actual cost data
  • Analyze wholesale P&L
  • Support FCG clause related filings at the FPSC
  • Support acquisitions and affiliates with rate related analyses as requested

 

Job Overview

•   Accounts for cost of service and rate design functional areas (retail, wholesale or adjustment clause)
•   Develops rate structures and prices to meet corporate objectives
•   Prepares filings, including testimony and minimum filing requirements
•   Obtains regulatory approval of the rates
•   Performs other job-related duties as assigned
