Our department makes all regulatory filings with the New Mexico Public Regulation Commission. This particular position will provide support in the preparation of Certificates of Service; compilation of regulatory filings which includes collecting testimony and exhibits and packaging into a filing; reproduction of the filings; scheduling the courier for pick-up of the filings to be transported to Santa Fe; notarizing affidavits for discovery and testimony; keeping regulatory pleading files up to date; and other miscellaneous administrative tasks.
Administers and supports the preparation and filing of regulatory filings at the New Mexico Public Regulation Commission (NMPRC) and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC). Prepares filing packages, organizes materials, and maintains files. Establishes and implements processes to ensure control throughout regulatory process.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assists in the preparation of NMPRC and FERC case filings
Coordinates compilation of materials for case filings and ensures filings are complete
Administers the logistics associated with actual case filings
Maintains case distribution lists and distributes case materials to case team
Organizes and stores project status documentation
Maintains department case files; ensures file entry into appropriate databases
Establishes and follows project management standards and guidelines
Knowledge of project management principles, practices, and techniques
Knowledge of budgeting systems and budget variance reporting
Ability to recognize appropriate context for legal documents
Ability to multitask and simultaneously manage multiple case filings
Strong organization and planning skills; action and detail oriented
Ability to work independently
Ability to pay attention to detail
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or GED with five to seven years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience related to the discipline.
Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos
Ability to write correspondence
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
Ability to effectively listen and get clarification to respond to a wide-range of questions
Working knowledge of spreadsheet and word processing software
ANALYSIS AND PROBLEM-SOLVING ABILITY:
Ability to identify and define problems and process breakdowns. Ability to read and understand regulatory filings. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, but uninvolved, verbal instructions.
Ability to recommend changes in systems and procedures.
Ability to sit up to 2/3 of the time and to stand, walk, and stoop up to 1/3 of the time. Good vision and ability to adjust focus is required. Manual dexterity is required. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
