Senior Manager, Energy Operations; Texas Retail Energy

The Senior Manager, Operations performs a key role in the Walmart Texas Retail Energy, LLC (TRE) mid-office. TRE currently operates the ERCOT, PJM, ISONE, MISO, NYISO and UK competitive markets. This position is primarily responsible for developing and maintaining load forecast models, supporting month-end rate setting with the back-office, supporting the front-office portfolio managers, developing and maintaining team operational dashboards, and reporting to our Board of Managers and other stakeholders for domestic competitive markets.

As part of the TRE team, you will be work closely with all other team members daily and will also interact frequently with other Energy department teams to understand onsite generation, energy efficiency and other initiatives that impact TRE’s load. As part of your role you’ll:

  • Develop and manage short- and long-term C&I (commercial and industrial) and residential load forecasts by hour at the meter, zone and portfolio level
  • Manage data extracts of market settlement systems
  • Support internal ETRM systems (Energy Trading and Risk Management)
  • Perform balance of the month load and price forecasting
  • Develop, maintain and manage Power BI and or Tableau dashboards
  • Manage operational and market settlement reporting
  • Participate in and support expansion into new competitive markets, domestic and international
  • Ensure business needs are being met
  • Manage external relationships with vendors and partners
  • Lead the implementation and execution of complex initiatives and process improvements
  • Drive processes across different areas of the business to ensure efficiency and compliance
  • Promote and support company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity
  • Provide supervision and development opportunities for associates

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or operations management or related field and 4 years management experience in management information systems, business operations, finance, or related field OR 6 years experience in management information systems, business operations, finance, or related field.

Additional Preferred Qualifications

  • 8 years experience in related role AND or MBA
  • CPA, CMA, PMP
  • Proficient in Excel and MS Office Suite
  • SQL Database Queries / Scripts
