Senior Operations Specialist

The Digital Client Experience team plans and executes on projects that deliver value to our coworkers by improving the user experience. We are looking for a progressive, energetic & passionate person to join our team as a Senior Operations Specialist.

About The Position

  • Maintains responsibility for all aspects of applications and/or systems administration, including implementation, configuration, coordination, control, maintenance, troubleshooting, testing, usage monitoring and the development of systems infrastructure within Digital Infrastructure
  • Designs, writes, implements and performs backup and restore procedures, and monitors processes
  • Administers and maintains system stability

Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinates software releases, system upgrades and patches with internal teams, and resolves complex problems
  • Plans, manages and forecasts system resources
  • Supports development of tools and processes to support operations and administration of Ameren’s infrastructure
  • Influences teams and stakeholders to achieve objectives; communicates how infrastructure work drives value for the business
  • Provides implementation path for a group of systems to provide a solution; sets service level expectations
  • Vets new technologies and compatibility with Ameren’s capabilities
  • Applies existing and emerging technologies to business problems to create practical solutions and efficiency opportunities
  • Coaches co-workers and provides feedback to enhance skills and knowledge
  • Provide off hours support, as needed, and the ability to adhere to rigorous Service Level Agreements (SLAs)


  • Associate Degree required, preferably in computer science or related field
  • 4+ years of relevant experience.  Will consider candidates without a degree if they show/demonstrate having 2+ additional years of equivalent, relevant experience in tools, systems, and initiatives leveraged by Ameren
  • Experience with infrastructure cyber security tools, operating systems and virtualization technologies required.
  • Experience with server and application troubleshooting, network and network services, high availability solutions, and disaster recovery required.
  • Experience with desktop operating systems required.
  • Experience with MDM/MAM technologies such as, WorkspaceOne, mobile app deployment, and device management required.
  • Understanding of Identity Management, Active Directory domains, Certificate Services, and Group Policy is required.
  • Powershell scripting experience preferred. Certification in Microsoft MCSA, Microsoft MCSE, and/or Cisco CCNA preferred

  • Ability to multi-task and possess excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to be self-directed when required and work as part of a distributed team
  • Travel, overtime, and/or off-hours work may be required based upon project management assignments
  • Must be flexible to work a standard work week in an office environment
