Specialist VI, SCC Outage Coordinator




This position is responsible for reviewing, authorizing, coordinating, and scheduling all switching and electrical clearance requests for planned construction and maintenance on the PGE transmission and distribution systems. Position must comply with all electric system reliability standards, applicable tariffs and other rules.




Requires 10 years of experience in occupations related to generation, transmission, or distribution systems.
Complete the NERC System Operator Certification, typically within 6 months of hire date.
Complete the SCC Outage Coordinator Qualification Card, typically within 9 months of hire date.
Thorough knowledge of PGE’s (or related) electrical transmission and distribution system.
Thorough knowledge of electrical principles and concepts.
Thorough knowledge of PGE’s Electric System Switching and Tagging Handbook and PGE Safety Procedures.
Ability to effectively monitor and use PGE’s Energy Management System (EMS), Distribution Outage Management System (OMS), Asset Outage System (AOS), Maximo Job Processing System, Vehicle Locator System, and Plant Information (PI) System.
Working knowledge of PGE (or related) generating facilities.
Excellent problem solving and evaluation techniques.
Effective leadership and human relations skills.
Adequate computer skills for routine office activities such as email and word processor documents.
Comprehensive knowledge of Company policies, practices, and philosophy.
Effective oral and written communication skills with ability to communicate effectively at all levels, including the company radio.
