The NEER Regulatory Affairs team leads the Company’s regulatory and legislative efforts in matters before regulatory agencies (FERC, state commissions, and ISOs/RTOs) and legislatures and provides timely and effective support to achieve the Company’s objectives. 

Job Overview

The Senior Regulatory Affairs Analyst reports directly to a Senior Director on the NEER Regulatory Affairs team.  The ideal candidate will provide high level regulatory affairs support for Company initiatives and projects throughout North America. This position collaborates with different business units and requires familiarity with a variety of regulatory and legislative concepts, practices, and procedures.  We are seeking strong, committed, enthusiastic candidates:

  • with ability to work in a high-performance, time-sensitive team environment under tight deadlines
  • who are detail-oriented, self-disciplined and self-motivated

     

    Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Analyzes and reports timely on changes in regulation, legislation, or tariffs and their expected impacts
  • Assists management in the monitoring of local, state and federal regulatory and legislative development to identify issues affecting company's operations and plans
  • Assists in coordinating the representation of organization's interests before state regulatory and legislative bodies
  • Travel to attend conferences, meetings, and proceedings at state commissions and legislatures throughout the United States
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

     

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Experience: 4+ years in the energy industry

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Graduate or Law Degree
  • Familiarity with utility tariffs and standard energy concepts
  • Work experience with a regulatory agency, public utility, or energy company
