About the Position

Positions are located in Jefferson City, Missouri.

Ameren Missouri is focused on attracting friendly and energetic top talent for its part-time Customer Care Assistants.  This position requires a person with a courteous, positive attitude, able to demonstrate empathy and knows the value of top tier customer service.  The Supplemental Customer Care Assistant is responsible for the following:

  • Process customer requests for connection and disconnection of service
  • Process calls for emergency and outage situations
  • Communicate information with dispatching as necessary
  • Handle possible irate customer complaints and/or inquiries
  • Perform daily clerical operations, such as correspondences, fax, letters, and miscellaneous information requested by customer 
  • Perform related duties as assigned


An Associate’s Degree or 60 credit hours towards a Bachelor's degree required from an accredited college or university required.  Bachelor’s Degree preferred.  Must pass the company customer service aptitude tests.  Customer service experience within the last three years is preferred. 

Successful candidate must demonstrate a positive, professional manner in dealing with customers and should have a strong command of English and be able to speak distinctly.  Candidates must have the tact and diplomacy essential for customer phone interaction and have effective written communication skills.

In addition to the above qualifications, the candidate:

  • Must guard customer account information as confidential
  • Will need to enter customer information into the system accurately and efficiently
  • Maintains an “All In” attitude including responding for emergency callouts as needed
  • Communicates with employees in various departments relating to records and services
  • Will need to pass drug testing in compliance of the DOT-covered safety sensitive functions
