Education and/or Equivalent Experience:
- Graduation from an accredited four (4) year college with major coursework in Planning, Geography, Social Science, Landscape Architecture, or a planning related field, plus three (3) years of experience in planning related work.
- Twelve (12) semester hours of relevant graduate college course work may substitute for six (6) months of required experience with a maximum substitution of two (2) years.
- Experience in planning related work may substitute for the education up to the maximum of four (4) years.

Austin Energy (AE) is seeking a Temporary Part-Time Planner III to help with the Subdivision and Site Plan review work process in the Public Involvement & Real Estate Services business unit. The Planner will assist in facilitating the review of plans that are submitted through the Land Development process and gather the appropriate comments regarding electric safety and clearance requirements, conflicts and proposed location for new or changing electrical service.
The Planner will review subdivision and site plan submittals on behalf of AE. Duties includes:
WHEN COMPLETING THE CITY OF AUSTIN APPLICATION:
- sorting plans received from COA Development Services
- facilitating meetings with the design teams
- gathering comments and inputting comments into the Amanda platform for the master comment report given to the applicant
- calculating load from the proposed projects for AE Distribution Planning
- maintaining records, and
- meeting with the applicants to solve issues.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS :
This position requires the ability to work outside in extreme weather conditions (hot or cold) etc.
PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT:
Safety Glasses, Hard Hat, Sun Screen, Safety Shoes/Boots when required.
