DUTIES:
Under direct but not constant supervision, to do various kinds of responsible
clerical, stenographic and word processing work of a difficult and complex nature,
requiring the exercise of some independent judgment with respect to maintaining
records filing documents with regulating agencies; supporting project teams, and
occasional to frequent field trips. Employees selected for this position are not
eligible to bid or transfer to another position for a period of two (2) years. In this
connection to perform details of work, such as:
Administer document control procedures for various projects and
departments for both confidential and public records.
Be adept at Ameren's document management system(s).
Be adept in the setup of drawing and document control files and records.
Maintain distribution lists.
Maintain detailed electronic and manual files.
Electronically file documents with the FERC (Federal Energy Regulatory
Commission).
Hand deliver and pick up documents as necessary, provide document
support while in the field.
Primarily located in the St. Louis area with travel required to Transmission
construction sites.
Plan and organize meetings, travel and department training.
Prepare spreadsheets, presentations and reports as directed.
Effectively handle sensitive and confidential information.
SPECIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Proficient in the use of a PC and utilization of the LAN to access drawing records and
engineering documents.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications.
Utilize other appropriate software and systems in performance of job duties such as, but
not limited to, department drawing repository programs.
Maintain good communication, organization and human relation skills.
Responsible for safe, prudent, efficient and effective use of Company resources.
For retaining as confidential, information obtained in connection with departmental work.
CONTACTS:
Supervisors, engineers, construction personnel, other company departments in
connection with work performed, including outside companies (if requested) in acquiring
information for the maintenance of Ameren drawings.
Personal and phone contacts with municipal, County and State employees in connection
with permits and with general public in connection with departmental matters.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Office environment and any hazards involved in the use of motor vehicles and job
hazards associated with job/construction sites.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduation from high school or the equivalent.
Three years of clerical experience in Document Control.
Satisfactory completion [grade of at least a "C"] of 15 credit hours of study leading
towards an Associate's Degree or higher in engineering, engineering technology, or
business administration, at an accredited university, college, or junior college.
Must display excellent organizational, communication and human relation skills.
